Why Drinking Water Helps Our Mental Health
Dehydration very quickly affects how we feel and think. If you suffer with a mood disorder, or you have struggles with brain functions and foggy processing then it’s wise to check your water intake.
Drinking water regularly throughout the day is a quick, easy, effective way to help us keep as mentally healthy as possible.
Start with a glass of water first thing in the morning, warm and with lemon if you can, but not essential. Drink two or three glasses between meals.
Try to carry a water bottle with you everywhere you go ,stainless steel or glass. Remember to drink the water and not just carry it around with you all day. This can be the challenge so set an alarm on your phone to remind you. A headache or a change in mood could be a sign that your dehydrated, pay attention to these signs and remember to drink.
Dehydration affects the way we think. Drinking enough water throughout our day keeps our brain from having to struggle against the effects of dehydration, allowing us to think more clearly.
If your already feeling thirsty, dry lips or mouth you are already starting to get dehydrated. Drink :)
Staying hydrated by drinking enough water is one aspect of good physical, emotional, and mental health. You will be amazed how good you feel just by increasing your daily intake of water!
The health authorities commonly recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon.
Happy water drinking!
